Misrata, 19 June:

A state-of-the-art fertility clinic was opened by the minister of health, Dr Fatima Hamroush, in Misrata on Sunday, the first such facility to open its doors in the city since the end of last year's revolution.

The minister and her accompanying delegation also held a meeting with members of the Misrata Local Council, along with members of the commissions of the wounded. Dr Hamroush delivered a speech in which she expressed her gladness at being in Misrata, a city which she said "had shown great solidarity and courage" during last year's conflict. She also took the opportunity to emphasise the importance of caring properly for the war-wounded and the need to bring in foreign doctors with various expertise.

Dr Hamroush also made a visit to a health centre specialising in the treatment of gastrointestinal and liver diseases. The centre additionally provides services in dermatology, dentistry and urology, with the minister being given a demonstration of the centre's capabilities and the services it provides for the local community.
