Tripoli, 17 May 2014:
Tunis Air suspended all of its flights on Saturday to and from Benghazi because of the unstable security situation following yesterday's clashes between extremist armed groups and groups belonging to the retired general Khalifa Haftar.
The Tunisian airline company issued a statement yesterday in which it apologised to its customers for the inconvenience caused by such a decision adding that it is a force majeure that is beyond its control.
Meanwhile, the director of Benina International Airport, Ibrahim Farkash, declared to Libyan media on Saturday that the airport would reopen at 13:00 local time and flights would resume, if the security situation stabilises in Benghazi. However, If clashes break out again, the airport would open at 20:00, he added.
