By Libya Herald Staff. Tripoli, 18 June 2014: The International Safety Training College (ISTC) has appointed a new country manager, Mahmoud El Baser. El Baser said that it has over 25 years of experience in quality, health, safety and environment (QHSE) management. It has also, it said been involved in business development, training and operations management in the European Union and MENA regions. ISTC said that it anticipates El Baser will unite his wealth of expertise as he works to establish the ISTC brand in Libya. An ISTC representative pointed out to the Libya Herald that in the past El Baser implemented projects related to industrial safety management, rescue and fire fighting management and industrial security, utilising all of ISTC’s strengths and opportunities in the MENA region. The firms said that its plan this year is to start on projects focusing on training, consultancy and certification. Founded in 2000, ISTC operates two training centres—one in Libya and the other in Malta. ISTC acts as a consultant and trainer in fire-fighting, emergency response, disaster management, offshore and marine survival, fire-safety, health and safety and first aid.
