London, 8 March 2021:

Ageela Saleh, head of the House of Representatives (HoR) and 130 HoR members from the west, east and south started arriving in Sirte yesterday to attend today’s planned reunified session. The number of arrived members was quoted by Ismail Al-Shareef, HoR member for Jufra.

He said another plane was en route from Tripoli with more members.

The planned quorate reunified HoR session called for by Saleh on 28 February is tasked with passing a vote of confidence in the designate Government of National Unity (GNU) – the first unified Libyan government since the 2014 split that followed the Tripoli Libya Dawn militia coup.

Abd Alhamid Aldabaiba, the designate prime minister of the GNU, has also arrived in Sirte. However, his desire to travel by road through the coastal road was not fulfilled and he was forced to travel by plane.
