Libya’s Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO) announced yesterday that, in an effort to increase production rates and improve operational processes, a joint technical workshop was held from June 21 to 24, 2026, between AGOCO and its partner, OMV, to support drilling and production activities in Contract Area 91.

The workshop was held with broad participation from the joint engineering team from the drilling, production, and operations departments of the company, in addition to representatives from OMV.

The workshop was attended by the managers of the Joint Assets Team, the Al Nafoura Field Supervisor, as well as several specialists and technicians from relevant departments.

Discussions continued for four days, during which the detailed technical and engineering aspects of drilling, well maintenance, and production operations included in the Al Nafoura Field Development Plan were reviewed. The workshop also witnessed a fruitful exchange of technical perspectives and a comprehensive review of current and future work plans to ensure their implementation according to the highest international standards and specifications.

Furthermore, the workshop placed paramount importance on strengthening occupational safety standards and environmental considerations as a fundamental pillar in all future development and production plans for the region.
