In response to the request to be relieved of his duties, the Head of the High State Council (HSC), Mohamed Takala, has directed the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Naji Issa, to continue performing his duties to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the Central Bank.
This directive, the HSC statement said, aims to maintain financial, economic, and political stability and serve the public interest—with a focus on controlling public spending and preventing any irregularities regarding the use of foreign currency—pending consideration and a final decision on the resignation in accordance with constitutional and legal rules and procedures.
