The Libyan Export Promotion Centre (LEPC) is planning to hold an exhibition of Libyan products in the Mauritanian capital of Nouakchott ''soon''.
The news was revealed Monday after the LEPC’s head, Mohamed Al-Deeb, hosted at the LEPC’s Tripoli headquarters Libya’s Ambassador to Mauritania, Musa Abdelnabi Al-Trabelsi.
The LEPC reported that during their meeting, in the presence of the Directors of Departments and Offices and the International Cooperation Advisor, the latest preparations regarding the Libyan products exhibition scheduled to be held in Nouakchott during the coming period, were followed up.
The event will be organised by the LEPC and the General Authority for Exhibitions, in cooperation with the Embassy of Libya in Mauritania and under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy and Trade.
It will be recalled that last June, coordinated by the Libyan embassy in Nouakchott, a delegation from the LEPC, the General Authority for Exhibitions, and the company organizing the exhibition, visited Mauritania in order to make preliminary arrangements for holding the exhibition, learn more about the Mauritanian market, and meet with officials.
The aim of the event is the penetration of Libyan products into the Mauritanian market and follows on from the ‘‘Made in Libya’’ events in Tunis, in September 2021 and in Niamey, Niger in March 2023.
These efforts come as part of Libya’s policy to increase local production, increase exports, increase transit trade to sub-Saharan Africa, diversify the economy away from hydrocarbons and create more jobs for its youthful population.
